We Provide the Leads, You Focus on the Sale
DESKA invests in marketing and lead generation to help keep your calendar filled with opportunities. Our team generates leads, provides them directly to our Outside Sales Consultants, and schedules appointments with homeowners who have already reached out for help with foundation, basement, crawl space, drainage, and other property concerns.
Self-generated leads and referrals are encouraged, but you will not be expected to build your entire pipeline on your own. Your focus is on meeting homeowners, identifying their concerns, educating them on the right solution, preparing proposals, and closing sales.
About the Opportunity
DESKA is a rapidly growing regional leader in foundation repair and waterproofing and has averaged 44% annual growth over the last nine years.
We are seeking an experienced, motivated Outside Sales Consultant to join our team. In this role, you’ll meet directly with homeowners, inspect their properties, identify the source of their concerns, recommend the right repair solutions, prepare proposals, and guide customers through the decision-making process. This is a consultative, in-home sales role that combines construction knowledge, problem-solving, customer service, and sales.
What You’ll Do
- Conduct on-site residential inspections
- Diagnose foundation settlement, water intrusion, basement, crawl space, drainage, and related structural concerns
- Meet with DESKA-provided leads and scheduled appointments
- Listen to homeowners and understand the problems they are experiencing
- Educate homeowners about the condition of their property
- Recommend appropriate repair and waterproofing solutions
- Measure and estimate proposed repairs
- Prepare and present professional proposals
- Help homeowners confidently choose the right solution for their home
- Close sales during appointments when appropriate
- Meet and exceed established sales goals
- Maintain accurate and timely customer follow-up
- Complete required reporting and documentation
- Follow and continually improve DESKA’s sales process
- Represent DESKA professionally in customers’ homes and throughout the community
Who We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone who is motivated, trustworthy, confident with homeowners, and comfortable working in a performance-driven sales environment.
Preferred qualifications include:
- At least 1 year of construction-related experience or knowledge
- Residential construction, home improvement, home inspection, or residential real estate experience
- Outside sales, in-home sales, or consultative sales experience preferred
- Strong listening, presentation, follow-up, and closing skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Strong work ethic and personal integrity
- Effective verbal and written communication
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to manage appointments and follow-up independently
- Comfortable using computers and digital sales tools
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to successfully complete a background check
- Comfortable with commission-based compensation
- Willing and able to inspect crawl spaces as low as approximately 30 inches when necessary
Physical Requirements
This position requires inspecting different areas of residential properties. Candidates must be able to climb, crawl, crouch, bend, carry equipment, and access basements, crawl spaces, foundations, and other areas necessary to complete property inspections.
